Kim Sung Kyun is a South Korean actor who started on stage in a 2003 production of Romeo and Juliet and spent most of a decade in Daehangno, Seoul's theatre district, before turning to film. His 2012 debut year brought villain roles in Nameless Gangster and The Neighbor and a sweep of Best New Actor awards — Baeksang, Grand Bell, Buil and the Busan Film Critics. He became widely known through the Reply series, appearing in both 1994 and 1988, and has since led D.P. (2021), Divorce Attorney Shin and Moving (both 2023) and The Fiery Priest. In Reply 1994 he played Samcheonpo, the computer engineering student everyone calls by the name of the town he came from, and sang "Fate" for the soundtrack with Min Do Hee — the two of them took Best Couple at the Korea Drama Awards for it.
