Nam Goong Min | 남궁민 | About

Nam Goong Min is a South Korean actor, director and screenwriter — and unusually for the profession, a mechanical engineering graduate who came to acting looking for a change of direction rather than through drama school. He debuted in Bungee Jumping of Their Own (2001), broke through in the neo-noir A Dirty Carnival (2006), and drew notice on television with Listen to My Heart (2011). He played the serial killer in A Girl Who Sees Smells (2015) and the chaebol heir Nam Gyu Man in Remember (2015-2016), then took the lead in Beautiful Gong Shim (2016) and Good Manager (2017), the role that made him a household name. Three Grand Prizes followed — for Hot Stove League (2020), The Veil (2021) and My Dearest (2023), the last also winning him Best Actor at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
