Park Shin Hye | 박신혜 | About

Park Shin Hye was born in Gwangju in 1990 and grew up in Seoul. She was cast as the young Han Jung-suh in Stairway to Heaven (2003) while still at school, and the role introduced her to audiences across Asia before she had finished growing up on screen.

Her breakthrough as an adult came with You're Beautiful (2009), followed by Heartstrings (2011), where she played Lee Gyu Won, a traditional Korean music major pulled into a university musical — and into the path of the campus band's singer.

The Heirs (2013) and Pinocchio (2014) made her one of the most recognisable actresses of the Korean Wave, and she carried that into Doctors (2016), Memories of the Alhambra (2018) and Sisyphus (2021).

Away from television she has led the films Miracle in Cell No. 7 (2013) and the thriller The Call (2020), and she returned to the screen in Doctor Slump (2024).
