Kim Hye Jin was the prettiest, most popular girl in her school, with a comfortable life and a wealthy publishing family behind her. Then the business collapsed, and an inherited condition took her looks with it. Now she lives rent-free with a friend and works shifts at a convenience store.
Ji Sung Joon was the unattractive, painfully shy boy who fell for her and confessed before circumstances took him abroad. Fifteen years on he returns to Seoul — handsome, successful, and transferred from New York to run the editorial desk at the fashion magazine The Most.
When he asks to meet his childhood first love, Hye Jin is too ashamed of her appearance to go, and sends her beautiful friend Min Ha Ri in her place. Then she lands a full-time job, and finds Sung Joon is her new boss — treating her with open contempt. Alongside them is Kim Shin Hyuk, the free-spirited senior editor who takes her side.
How long can she keep her real identity secret, and can looks really change how someone feels?
An intern in the administration section who becomes a junior editor. Once beautiful, wealthy and clever, she lost it all; ashamed of her failures, she sent her best friend Ha Ri to meet her first love in her place — and then found him standing over her as her boss.
The youngest deputy chief editor in Korea: stubborn, arrogant and brilliant at his work. Unattractive and shy as a boy, he grew up handsome and successful, and contacted his first love the moment he returned to Korea.
A hotelier, and Hye Jin's best friend and flatmate. Beautiful and stylish, she keeps up the pretence of being Hye Jin and falls for Sung Joon herself.
A senior feature editor and Hye Jin's direct supervisor: free-spirited, fair and straightforward, with an identity he keeps to himself — he is later revealed to be the writer Ten.

14 When the main feature interview falls through, the editorial team is left scrambling. And a major character's true identity is revealed — and it's not what you think.
15 With the anniversary edition of The Most finally out on the stands, the magazine's future will soon be known.
16 Hye Jin and Sung Joon start their year apart — her in Korea pursuing her dream of writing fairy tales, him back in New York. But the distance is more difficult than they would ever have imagined.
