Cha Tae Hyun is a South Korean actor, singer and director who started out as a silver medallist in the 1995 KBS Talent Contest. He became a national star as Gyun-woo in My Sassy Girl (2001), and went on to lead the box-office hits Scandal Makers (2008), Hello Ghost (2010) — which earned him the nickname "Korea's Jim Carrey" — The Grand Heist (2012) and Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (2017). On television he starred in Jeon Woo-chi (2012), played the veteran PD Ra Joon Mo in The Producers (2015) and led Police University (2021). He was a cast member of the variety show 2 Days & 1 Night for seven years from 2012, hosted Radio Star, and made his directorial debut with Hit the Top (2017). He won Best New Actor (Television) at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 1999 and Best New Actor at the Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2001.
