Jang Na Ra is a South Korean actress and singer who debuted in 2001 under SM Entertainment with the album First Story and broke through the year after with Sweet Dream, which topped the Korean charts. She built parallel careers in Korea and China — the first foreign artist to sell more than a million copies there — while moving from sitcoms into leading roles with Successful Story of a Bright Girl (2002), which brought her Best New Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards. She has since led Baby-faced Beauty (2011), You Are My Destiny (2014), Hello Monster (2015), Confession Couple (2017), The Last Empress (2018), VIP (2019), Sell Your Haunted House (2021) and Good Partner (2024), the last of which won her the Daesang at the SBS Drama Awards. In School 2013 she played Jung In Jae, the literature teacher handed the worst class in the school who declines to give up on it.
