Kim Myung Min is a South Korean actor who debuted after winning SBS's 6th talent audition in 1996 and broke through with the horror film Sorum (2001). The 104-episode epic Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-sin (2004-2005) revived a career he had nearly given up on and won him a KBS Drama Awards Grand Prize, and he followed it with the medical drama White Tower (2007) and Beethoven Virus (2008), whose conductor Kang Mae became a national phenomenon. He lost 20 kilos to play a man with Lou Gehrig's disease in Closer to Heaven (2009), took the title role in the Detective K film series, and played Sambong Jung Do Jun in Six Flying Dragons (2015-2016). Widely nicknamed "the acting expert", he has twice won Best Actor at the Baeksang Arts Awards as well as Grand Bell and Blue Dragon best actor honours.
